LIVE ARC
I’m excited to open ARC sign-ups for Prose & Cons, my upcoming satirical, slightly fantastical novel about creative identity—and what happens when a dream book deal comes with overlooked fine print.
About the Book
For anyone who’s ever wondered what it really costs to have your voice heard.
Prose & Cons follows Hannah Johannesson, a debut author who signs with a glamorous New York publisher—only to discover the entire house is secretly run by a sentient, trend-obsessed algorithm known as The Feed, overseen by Lucy Sinclair, the devil in heels.
As Hannah’s success skyrockets, she begins to realize her perfect deal may have cost her not just her debut novel, but every story she’ll ever write. With the help of her best friend Solveig, she must outwit the algorithm, uncover a hidden loophole, and decide what her creative voice is truly worth.
Told through a slightly heightened, stylized lens, the story blends satire and light fantasy to explore what it really means to own your voice.
Expect:
• a slightly fantastical, bookish world
• sharp, witty publishing-world satire
• humor with heart
• a strong female friendship at its core
• themes of creative identity, ambition, and reclaiming your voice
Tone:
Witty, whimsical, and character-driven, with a lightly surreal edge that brings the story’s themes into focus.
